Your Queries Answered: What Happens After Eyebrow Embroidery?

If you dream of waking up the day after an eyebrow embroidery session with *chef’s kiss* perfect brows, we’re sorry to say that that’s rarely the case, unless you are in for Avone Beauty Secret’s 9V Ultimate Virtual Eyebrow Embroidery!

Instead, most people wake up to slightly swollen and reddish skin on the areas of their treated brows, which may proceed to scab or flake throughout the next few days. The colour may also look a little far too dark, although that is pretty common and normal during the healing process.

Not the best image you had in mind?

Well, that’s the case if we’re simply talking about conventional microblading eyebrow embroidery (which is much more common). If you are looking for an advanced  technique that delivers more comfort, more neutral and faster eventual results, there are better options available for eyebrow embroidery procedures that are gentle, and almost pain-free.

But if you think basic embroidery treatments are good enough for you, you may check out our widely acclaimed and popular 3D Creative Korean Eyebrow Embroidery at a time-limited promotion of $199 only, with a free $20 voucher and a detailed designing session alongside our professional eyebrow embroidery.

But firstly, let us take a closer look at how the typical healing process looks like for conventional eyebrow embroidery, then go on to explore the differences newer embroidery techniques bring!

Recovery Day 1

Let’s make it clear: How you look like right after brow embroidery is not how the final results will be. Most people get startled when they see how dark and bold their brows look a few hours after the procedure, and a feeling of regret starts to settle in.

The skin around your brow area may also start to swell or show signs of redness, due to the micro-cuts caused by the embroidery process. It’s really just part of the pigments stabilising and recovery process and you shouldn’t worry this too much!

Our best advice? Don’t agitate your brows during this crucial healing period. If you need to shower, apply makeup, or touch your face for any reason, do not agitate or wet the eyebrow area. Your brows specialists may have given you a soothing cream for your brows – that’s the only thing that should be going on your brows. Apply it diligently!

Recovery Day 2-7

The next few days, your brows may start to form scabs, flake, and feel itchy, as the skin begins to regenerate and heal. A word of caution if you want to be able to see your brows in perfect condition: DO NOT peel or scratch the scabs! Picking at the skin will reopen wounds, which can cause scarring, removal of the pigments (leading to patchy areas), and in a worst-case scenario, even infections.

Continue to abstain from wetting or touching your brows area unnecessarily – this means avoiding the swimming pool, any facials or spas involving the face, and applying anything on your brows, except for the prescribed aftercare cream.

Another thing you should notice is the gradual lightening of the colour of your brows. The hideous bold, dark brows are slowly giving way to a softer, more natural colour ones – phew. For those that are doing eyebrow embroidery for the first time, it is highly recommended to do a touch-up after a month from your first session so the colours will last longer. The final results would be more uniformed and you can maintain the results for up to 3 years with proper aftercare!

Recovery Day 7-14

Congratulations! You’ve passed the first critical period of healing, and all swelling should have subsided by now. Any scabs that formed during this process should have fallen off, and your eyebrows would be looking as good as new!

Note that your skin will continue to heal beneath the surface, and the pigments will continue to stabilise through this second week of recovery. Once there is no more visible cuts, scabs, or redness, you can carefully re-introduce your normal activities of applying makeup and washing your entire face.

Recovery Week 3-6

The complete recovery process for eyebrow embroidery usually takes about 4 to 6 weeks, depending on factors like how well the procedure was performed, and your skin’s natural healing abilities.

If any touch-up is required, you should only do so after 4 to 6 weeks. If you are unsure, it is best to speak to a professional and have them assess your condition. Otherwise, it’s time for you to flaunt the results of your immaculate new brows!
